· Vale do Lobo Royal
The Royal Golf Course is significantly more difficult than the Ocean Course (also part of the exclusive Vale do Lobo tourist resort), basically because the terrain is even more interrupted, the increased number of water and sand hazards and its greater length. Although the original design is by Sir Henry Cotton, the stamp of William 'Rocky' Roquemore is now visible along the course.
To play the world-famous par 3 16th hole, you need to perform a 218m stroke over three spectacular cliffs to reach the green. Another highlight is the 9th hole, a par 3 whose green lies behind a lake. Water is also in play in the 6th, 16th and 17th holes.
